A bit of self-promotion, if I may.

For all you military science-fiction readers out there, my new novel, "Solfleet: The Timeshift Saga; The Call of Duty; Book One of the Excalibur Trilogy", was published on 16 April 2007. It is in stock or can be ordered at all the major book store chains, and is available at Amazon.com and other online sources. Amazon.com has sold out twice and is currently selling from its third shipment. So far, there is one customer review posted there. Take a look.

Thanks, Tom. It was fun.

Also, just a note to let everyone know that the link in my signature now points to a new website. It is just getting underway at this time, but promises to be a much more interesting site than would have been possible with the previous one once it's up and running.

To anyone who has bought my novel for $39.95 (or the non-US equivalent), I thank you, and I hope you are enjoying it.

I have just learned that my efforts to convince my publisher to lower the price have finally paid off. They are going to lower it by $10. I do not know when the new price will take effect, but the response I received from them stated that, "We are lowering the price of your book to $29.95," so I would expect to see the new price relatively soon.

I'll try to pick-up your book at the store if its there when I finish the Voyager book I'm reading now. It looks interesting, and I mean that in a good sense! Did your military experience help you at all with writing it?

Indeed it did. My military experience was a huge help in that it probably saved me several weeks' worth of research... unless you consider 20 years of service to be the research. :D But don't worry about getting lost in a bunch of military jargon. As one of the reviewers at Amazon.com said, the book is written in a way that you don't have to have served in the military yourself to understand that aspect of the story. I hope you enjoy it, and thanks.

There's something new on the "EVENTS" page of my website. Just follow the link in my signature below.

Also, Ben Alpi has created a banner for anyone who would like to add a link from their website to mine. If you would like the banner, just send me a PM and let me know where to send it.

Though it is not official... I repeat, it is NOT official... "The Call of Duty" has been nominated for a 2008 Hugo Award!

It is not official because the Hugo Award staff only consider works that receive enough nominations to make the final ballot for voting to be official nominees. Even though a work might have received one or more nominations from the the WSFS membership, that does not automatically mean that work will be among those that can be voted for when the nominations close and the voting commences. That being said, it's still pretty cool.

Also... Moderator, please move this thread to the Books & Literature section when you get a chance. Thank you.
